Canon Tables, Gospel Concordance

(From Latin canon = rule) a list of the different narratives in the four Gospels in tables (canons) showing what sections have been handed down in parallel by multiple Evangelists and which sections have been handed down by a lone Evangelist. This arrangement goes back to Eusebius of Caesarea (260-339) and proceeded through medieval cf. Gospel Books and were often furnished with rich visual décor .
